Who we are
This site is operated by STRATEX, Paphos, Cyprus. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the data controller for any personal data described here.
You can reach us at hello@stratex.studio about anything on this page, including a request to access or delete your data.
The contact form does not send us anything by itself
This is worth stating plainly, because most sites work the other way round. Our contact form does not submit to a server. When you complete it and press send, your own email application opens with the message pre-filled, and nothing leaves your device until you choose to send that email yourself.
We therefore do not run a database of form submissions, and there is no third-party form processor between you and us. What we hold is simply the email you sent, in our mailbox.
What we hold when you email us
If you email us — via the form or directly — we hold the contents of that email and anything you chose to include in it.
- Your name and email address
- Your company name, if you give it
- Whatever you write in the message
Why we hold it, and for how long
Our lawful basis is legitimate interest: you contacted us about work, and we need your message in order to reply and to quote. If we go on to work together, the basis becomes performance of a contract.
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as there is a live conversation, and afterwards for up to two years in case you come back to us. Records connected to paid work are kept for as long as Cypriot tax and accounting law requires. You can ask us to delete correspondence sooner and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.
Analytics
We use two analytics tools, and they behave differently.
- Vercel Analytics — measures page views and performance without cookies and without tracking individuals across sites. It runs for everyone because it does not identify you.
- Google Analytics 4 — sets cookies and is only loaded if you accept analytics cookies in the banner. Decline, and it is never loaded at all. You can change your mind at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer.
Hosting and where your data goes
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Their servers process the technical information any web server receives in order to serve a page — your IP address, browser type and the page requested. Vercel acts as our processor for this.
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics data is processed by Google. Both are US companies; transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
Fonts are self-hosted and served from our own domain. Nothing about your visit is sent to Google Fonts.
What we never do
We do not sell personal data. We do not share your enquiry with third parties for their own marketing. We do not run advertising pixels, retargeting tags, or profiling of any kind on this site.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we are using it, or ask for it in a portable format. Email us and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.
Changes
If we change how this site handles data, we will update this page and the date shown at the top.
